Year One: Paper... (and Flowers)

1 year down many, many to go! Ammon and I celebrated our 1st Anniversary on Friday the 8th. We wanted to get away for the weekend, but it turns out August is a crazy month for us so we stuck around. On Friday night, we went downtown to Rodizio Grill. We enjoyed a lovely dinner and Ammon enjoyed a tiny taste of "his country" of Brazil. We drank Guarana, ate Pao de queijo, and bananas fritas for appetizers, beans & rice, of course, and Ammon's favorite-- the meat! (especially Picanha) After we ate all of that we got dessert too! UGH!
I bought Ammon a family edition of the Book of Mormon and had our name engraved on it. He has been wanting one for a while, so what better time than now? First anniversary is traditionally a paper gift, so it fit.
Ammon surprised me with flowers, except I almost ruined it! When we went to dinner, he left the car unlocked and had his friend put the flowers inside. When we got home, he told me to go get ready for bed, so while I was doing that he went to "turn the light and computers off"... well, I was wondering what was taking him so long and walked into the kitchen. There he was, I caught him red-handed. Hie was pulling the flowers out of the wrapping to put them in the vase and he says "OH, SWEETHEART! You ruined it!" I started laughing and ran to the bedroom. He came down a minute later with beautiful flowers arranged by him! He's such a sweetheart!
We had a great night together!

Congrats on the BIG ONE!!! The first year is always an adjustment. But there are always little obstacles to overcome. I am glad to see that you are doing well and happy as ever. I stumbled on your blog on Breann's. I haven't seen you since I ran into you and your mom here in Logan. I take it you must be in SLC. Glad to see you are doing well.
