The evening of my shower, we were also able to meet up with Ammon's mission president and his family for dinner. How fun it was to be able to meet them in person (I had talked to them on skype with Ammon a few times) and watch them share memories and enjoy each other again. On his mission, Ammon was the financial secretary in the office so he was able to spend a lot of time with President Oppe, and develop a really good relationship with him. The Oppe's picked up their son Lucas who had just finished serving his mission in New York. They have another son, Felippe who lives here in Utah and had just recently gotten married to his sweet wife Joana. We enjoyed some pizza with them and had a great time. What warm, generous, sweet, fun people! We hope they come back, or better yet, we hope to be able to visit them in Brazil!!
